A new twist on an aging scam

The nubs of it are:
  • A robocall from 888-943-9174 claiming you are entitled to a refund (From an expenditure you never made) asks you to call them back to claim your refund.
  • When you call back, they lead you to go to www.rsupport.com or www.fastsupport.com or some other remote connecting site.
  • If you use Windows of any genre, DON'T DO THAT!  They will hack your computer and demand a ransom or try to steal your personal and/or financial info.

Because I use a Linux operating system, I was able to play
them to see what they were up to until their method failed.

Stay safe. Never let a stranger connect to your computer - even if he offers you candy or to pet his dog.
