Honoring his wishes, he will be cremated with a memorial service on July 10, 2026, at Trinity Presbyterian Church at 11am. Inurnment will be later in Montreat Memorial Gardens in Montreat, NC.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Windy Cove Presbyterian Church Pavilion (33691 Mountain Valley Rd., Millboro, VA 24460) with Reverend Con Sauls officiating. Interment will be in Smith Family Cemetery, on Tunnel Hill Road, Millboro, Virginia. Pallbearers will be his family.
