Sunnyside Library Volunteers Christmas Party

The Sunnyside Library Volunteers enjoyed a delightful time of socializing together in the Alleghany Room on December 15.  This was the first time that volunteers from both branches—Eiland Center and Highlands joined together in a social event.  Twenty-five volunteers, along with Charlotte Sibold and Robin Golliday joined in singing the 12 Days of Christmas and the 12 Days of Good Health.  That proved to be far funnier than planned!  Our Christmas planning committee did a wonderful job with decorations and food.  Alexis Hogan, Barbara Hogan, Betty Lawrence, Mary McNally, and Sharon Pafford used their creativity to bring a Christmas vibe to the room.

Barbara Boothe shared the plans for 2022—cataloging the books in the Eiland Center into Tiny Cat; implementing some one-on-one and small group activities in the Eiland Center; implementation of the new program-“Browsing the Book Shelf”—to name just a few.

We are thankful for the support of the administration for our library and look forward to another year of working with them to make both locations a wonderful place for reading and learning.

Our thanks to Mary Rouse for her piano accompaniment (in spite of the music leader moving all around the room!) and for the pictures to capture our memories.

We are also thankful to our volunteers.  It is because of them that we can offer various activities that extend to all of our residential settings—independent living, assisted living, and health care. And yes, we need more volunteers.  There are several different kinds of tasks that make our library function—acquisitions, circulation, data management, magazine, activities, publicity.  We can find a place for you!
