This group provides the opportunity for Sunnyside Residents to play Mah Jongg, a challenging game that involves 152 tiles. It was first played by the ruling class of China and dates back to the time of Confucius. Mah Jongg is still the most popular game in the Orient and was introduced in the U.S. in 1920.

Activities

The Mah Jongg groups are open to any experienced players, but if you want to learn the game, Barbara will be happy to teach a class!  Just call her at 437-8928 to learn more about the existing groups or to start a new one.

Meetings

There are TWO enthusiastic Mah Jongg groups here at Sunnyside. One meets on Mondays from 1:00-4:00, and the other meets on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00. The Monday group meets in the Blue Ridge Room at the Highlands. The Tuesday night group meets at Barbara Conway’s home, 1454 Glenside Drive.
