Points … Points … How Many Points?

If you are eating in the Bistro, the Market Place, or the Tartan Grill, you may hear people talking about points. No, they probably are not playing a card game or discussing a football game score. The odds are they are talking about Weight Watchers' new Freestyle Point System.

It seems everyone loves Weight Watcher’s new Freestyle Point System, which doesn’t require counting calories or depriving yourself of foods that you love. Instead it’s all about lifestyle, the ability to make choices about what you will eat each day. It’s also about community – sharing stories, hints, recipes, low points and high points (no pun intended) – and yes, celebrating success as goals are reached. (Our group, meeting since March, has so far lost a total of over 500 pounds!)

Weight Watchers meetings are held right here at Sunnyside. About two dozen residents gather in the Sunnyside Room at 1:30 p.m. each Thursday afternoon, and new members are welcome to join at any time.

The discussions are lively and supportive, the print and online materials are great, and there’s even a bar code scanner for when you go shopping! For more information, contact our great coach, Debbie Bower, at debbie.bower@weightwatchers.com, or just come join us on a Thursday afternoon. You’ll be glad you did!
