Birding

Purpose

Sunnyside is home, not just to our prolific Canada geese, but also to a wide variety of other colorful and melodious birds.  Just take a walk around the campus, look out your kitchen window, or take a drive around our local neighborhood and you'll see what we mean.  But don't forget your binoculars or camera!

Activities

Although Sunnyside birders do not meet formally, they are always interested in sharing with others. Let us know if you’d like to be listed on this website as another resource for birding information. In addition, the Rockingham Bird Club meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month, September-June, at the Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community. The club has excellent programs, and several Sunnyside residents usually attend. The club also conducts a bird seed sale each fall. Check out their website at: http://rockinghambirdclub.com/.

Meetings

Sunnyside "birders" don't meet formally or regularly, but are very willing to share their knowledge and excitement with you.
